Fat Digestion

Fat Digestion
A gallstone does not have to work its way into such a precarious spot for pain to occur, however. Sometimes just the presence of one or more gallstones within the gallbladder can cause inflammation within the gland that can cause pain when the gallbladder is called into action after meals, and especially after meals containing a lot of fat. "It's the gallbladder's job to release bile into the stomach for fat digestion, so the more fat that's consumed, the more active and hence susceptible to pain an inflamed gallbladder is going to be."
