What You Eat
The saturated fat and cholesterol in the foods you eat raise total and LDL cholesterol levels. The type of fat you eat is important. There are three types of dietary fat- saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated. The distinction between these fats is a chemical one, but that chemistry means everything when it comes to the impact it has on your cholesterol levels. Simply put, all fat is made of mostly carbon and hydrogen atoms.
