Besides losing weight, increased exercise and physical activity helps raise HDLs. (Exercise can also help control diabetes and high blood pressure.) Aerobic exercise-the kind that uses oxygen to provide energy to large muscles and raises your heart and breathing rates is what you want. Examples of aerobic exercise include walking, jogging, and swimming. Bonus: Aerobic exercise will also condition your heart and lungs.
