Health experts recommend limiting your total fat intake to no more than 30 percent of daily calories and your saturated fat intake to no more than 10 percent of daily calories. The % Daily Value shown on the Nutrition Facts label for Total Fat and Sturated Fat are based on these targets for a 2,000 calories daily diet. The % Daily Value for Cholestrol is based on 300 milligrams. You should be aware that it's perfectly okay to get less of both these substance.

Meat are excellent sources of iron, and dairy products are rich in calcium. The % Daily Value for these minerals are required on the label. The % Daily Value for Iron is based on 18 milligrams and for Calcium on 1,000 milligrams.
