Low Fiber Diet

Low Fiber Diet
A low-fiber diet does just the opposite. Fats and proteins become quickly absorbed in the small intestine. This time only a little food matter remains. And as with fibrous foods, this material also moves on to the large intestine. But since the remainders of a high-fat diet don't take up as much space, this food matter tends to linger a lot longer in the large intestine before being passed on as waste. Because the food simply sits there, the large intestine gets the rest it needs to heal properly.
