Food fads, poor appetite, anorexia and other eating disorders may be the reasons for psychiatric referrals at various age groups during childhood and adolescence. The fact about parent’s unrealistic and over concerned attitude about child’s inadequate food intake should always be kept in mind while treating these disorders.
