Diverticulitis Pain

Diverticulitis Pain
It could well be the most common disease that no one knows they have. However, with 15 to 20 percent of diverticulosis cases, the diverticula become infected. That's when you develop diverticulitis. And, if you have it, you definitely know that something is wrong.

Some say an attack of diverticulitis feels similar to appendicitis, except with diverticulitis, the pain occurs on the left side or the lower abdominal region, instead of the right side where the appendix is located. Since these symptoms can also point to more serious conditions such as a tumor, it's vital that you see a doctor if you experience lengthy and acute abdominal pain. (Don't try to diagnose this one yourself.)
