Kids Sugar

Many people believe that sugar causes hyperactive behavior in children. But according to a review of 16 research studies published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, it just isn't so.

The results showed that sugar does not affect either children's behavior or their cognitive performance.

But tell this to any parent who has a little one bouncing off the walls after a dose of sugar and you'r bound to encounter skepticism. For some possible explanations, we turned to registered dietitian Julie H. Burns, owner of SportFuel in Western Spring, Illinois, and mother of five-year-old triplets.
