Camera

The purpose of the lens is to form a sharp image of the object and to project the picture image onto the sensitive film at the back of the camera. The simplest means we could use for a camera lens would be a very small hole, made with a needle. But it takes a long time for sifficient light to pass through such a small hole to record a picture on the sensitive film, so a larger hole covered by a glass lens is used.
