EMOTIONAL ABUSE

EMOTIONAL ABUSE
Emotional or mental abuse is probably the most difficult type of child abuse to define and to identify. It leads to psychological as opposed to physical harm of children. It would include a parent or care giver’s constant and continual overt rejection and criticism of a child or open disowning of a child. There is a component of emotional abuse co-existing in most child abuse cases.
