LAWS OF THE GYROSCOPE

LAWS OF THE GYROSCOPE
In the seventeenth century, Kepler, Galileo and Isaac Newton discovered the laws which govern the movements of the earth. They showed that these laws apply to the other planets, and we have since learned that they apply equally to the sun itself and to most of the stars. Newton did not call the earth a gyroscope because the name had not been invented in his time, but the rules by which gyroscopic instruments are designed today are based on the laws explained by Isaac Newton.
