Yogurt

Choose Yogurt
It's easier to digest lactose in yogurt with live bacteria than in other dairy foods. (Look for the words "live cultures" on the label.) Eating yogurt with other foods may help digest the lactose in the yogurt, according to a study at the University of Minnesota. Even yogurt with live cultures can vary. One study found that symptoms varied according to the brand of yogurt, so you may want to shop around. In general, however, all yogurt contains less lactose than milk.
