General Considerations

Helminths belong to the group metazoa and are parasites, with man as a host. Metazoa may be either flatworms or round worms.

Classification 

A) Intestinal Worms.
B) Tissue Worms.

Intestinal Worms 

Intestinal round worms are:

1. Ascaris lumbricoides (commonly called round worm).
2. Ankylostoma duodenale (Hook worm).
3. Enterobius vermicularis (Pin worm or Thread worm).
4. Strongyloides stercoralis.
5. Trichuris trichiura (Whip worm).
